District 9

I went to see District 9 on Friday at 7:30.  Wondering why my boyfriend and friend were able to meet our other friends (all 10 of them) who had been saving seats, basically walked into a rather quiet theater (almost unheard of in NYC) which was not full to capacity and there was no line…  Then we sat down and watched what is easily aside from Star Trek, the best movie of the summer.  Seriously, this movie kicked ass.  Still in a state of best-movie-ever shock, we then left the theater and were greeted with the longest freaking line of people I have ever seen.  There was the line I had been expecting to see when we first entered.  So we were lucky to choose an earlier viewing time, thus avoiding the noisy, obnoxious movie goers and all the while seeing the best movie of the summer, aside from Star Trek.

See this movie.  It’s bloody fantastic.  Check out the website, it’s pretty cool and very “Lost-esq”.
