Today is the last day of JCK (Jewelers Circular Keystone, which is the biggest trade show for the jewelry industry) in Las Vegas.
We are just finishing up after being here for five days (some of us ten) and more than ready to leave the city of sin. I came, I tasted the sweet air, ate the greasy food, even the fruit dripped oil! And, yes, out of peer pressure I gambled…I lost $10 on my first round of roulette. That game sucks by the way, all based on chance. Why do I want to “bet” my money on the chance of losing? Exactly.
On being chosen as the winning design for Veronica Belmont’s new twitter background. The DaVeronica Code beat out 73 other designs to become the popular tech-centric show host’s twitter page. The contest was hosted by 99designs.com.
I know, I know! Enough with the commercials. But I can’t help it, and the car ones really win me over.
Okay, so if I had a dime for everytime I watched this one, I’d probably have…a very large stack of dimes. This is my favorite commercial by far. I love the music (and spent a good amount of time tracking down the song), but the actual commercial is very well done too. What can I say…you’re GORGEOUS!
The song is Two Rocks and a Cup of Water by Massive Attack
A bit late (by a week) on posting this, but in my defense I had written it once already and then my blasted iPhone deleted it somehow. Anyway…
I had the pleasure of seeing Star Trek on opening night and what a pleasure it was! I was expecting awesome (of course, being the Trekkie that I am), but this movie really blew me away. Not only will Star Trek fans like it (and no, I’m not talking about the die hard ones who will QQ about Vulcan), but the average, everyday joe/too-bad-your-not-a-trekkie-too will love it as well. I saw the regular version opening night and then again the next day on IMAX. If you haven’t already, GO SEE IT! I even went all out and wore my beloved Star Trek t-shirt that Dhare got me at comic-con. Yeah, that’s right…I’m like real geek.
You won’t find a better cast in a better movie all summer. Zachary Quinto as Spock and Chris Pine as Kirk are dead on. What talent, and the rest of the cast? Outstanding!
J.J Abrams is a genius and my new hero. Thumbs up for Star Trek, but not for the mean ticket taker jerk who wouldn’t let me in an hour ahead of time. ♦♦♦♦♦
